Narrated by Sayyidina 'Adi bin Hatim RA that he heard the Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam saying: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity." [Bukhari]

 

Narrated by Sayyidina Abu Huraira RA: A man came to the Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam and asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Which charity is the most superior in reward?" He replied, "The charity which you practice while you are healthy, niggardly and afraid of poverty and wish to become wealthy. Do not delay it to the time of approaching death and then say, 'Give so much to such and such, and so much to such and such.' And it has already belonged to such and such (as it is too late)." [Bukhari]

 

Narrated by Sayyidina Abu Hurairah RA: Allah's Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said, "Allah the exalted says, 'spend, O son of Adam, you will also be spent upon.' [Bukhari and Muslim]

 

Narrated by Sayyidina Ibn Mas'ud RA: Allah's Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam asked, "Which of you loves the wealth of his inheritors more then his own wealth?" The companions submitted: "O Allah's messenger Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam! There is none of us but loves his wealth more." He Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said, "His wealth is that which he has sent forward, but that which he retains belongs to his inheritors.” [Bukhari]

 

Narrated by Sayyidina Abu Hurairah RA: Allah's Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said, "Allah's Messenger Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said, Everyday two angels descends and one of them says, 'O Allah! Compensate (more) to the person who gives (in charity)' ; while the other one says, 'O Allah! Destroy the one who with holds (charity, etc)" [Bukhari]
